The Interface Lens:
A conceptual tool for dementia care
We are proud to share our first publicly published piece of work.
This paper introduces the Interface Lens, a conceptual way of understanding how a person’s inner experience meets the external world, and how this coordination may become strained in dementia.

Grounded in lived experience and written for carers and practitioners, it offers a simple, transferable way to interpret behaviour and guide interaction in the moment of care. The Interface Lens is intended to sit alongside existing approaches, supporting dignity, connection, and person-led care when traditional frameworks fall short.

This paper is the embodiment of everything we have learned on this journey. It is freely available for anyone to download, share, and use.
