Last week I attended the Great British Care Awards for the South East, and I am very proud to say that Timeless Presents won the Care Innovation Award.
It was a lovely moment, but the meaning behind it runs deeper for me. Our work is not just about creating beautiful activities. It is about addressing something far more fundamental.
An estimated 55 million people worldwide are living with dementia, and most of them are being cared for by people who have few support mechanisms and limited access to dementia specific training. The reasons are complex, but the foundation is simple. Dementia, especially late stage dementia, is still widely misunderstood and stigmatised across the world.
Timeless Presents was created to meet that gap. We design activities that support insight and engagement in late stage dementia, and we do it in an accessible way that offers emotional safety and recognition for everyone involved. Each activity comes with simple guidance, so there is no jargon, no extra training needed, just connection in the moment where it matters.
Winning the regional award means a great deal, and we are now nominated for the national award next year. But more than that, it confirms that there is real appetite for change in how we support people living with dementia and the families and staff who care for them.
A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us so far. Our work is only just beginning.
